Lütze has optimized its motor supply cables in terms of energy efficiency: The cables absorb less charging current and therefore heat up less, which means that more current reaches the motor. In addition, longer cable lengths can be overcome. The low-capacity cables are available for fixed and moving installation, for use with frequency drive motors and for use in energy supply chains. The manufacturer relies primarily on the two material components XLPE and PP for the cables. As an insulation material, XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) offers very low capacitance and electrical properties such as high dielectric strength. XLPE inherently prevents undesirable transmission losses, such as corona discharge. For cables with fixed installations, the company also uses polypropylene (PP) insulation, which also has a low dielectric constant.
