The 185 mm busbar system from Rittal is completely protected against accidental contact when installed. If required, individual components can also be retrofitted under voltage without removing the contact protection of the busbar system. Fully insulated contacting technology is used for this purpose, which establishes contact with the busbar through the existing cover. For this purpose, the covers are provided with narrow slots through which contact is made using appropriate contact pieces. As the slots are a maximum of 4 mm wide, the required protection rating of IP2X for contact protection is guaranteed. The basic equipment of the busbar system includes NH fuse-switch-disconnectors for fuse protection, which have targeted air routing for efficient heat dissipation from the fuse-links. A second separate channel ensures the safe dissipation of arcing that can occur when switching under load. There are also circuit-breaker adapters that can be used to mount all common models of molded-case circuit-breakers from various manufacturers. Circuit-breaker adapters up to 630 A were previously available, but now circuit-breakers up to 1600 A can also be integrated into the switchgear. The 185 mm busbar technology is an integrated solution in the "Ri4Power" modular system.
