The nominated product 'Galaxie' is a high-performance gearbox with dynamized individual teeth and hydrodynamic full-surface tooth engagement. This results in an internal power transmission surface that is more than six times larger than that of conventional gearboxes. The individual teeth are arranged in segments and are driven by a polygon and a roller bearing as well as a segmented bearing outer ring. For the first time, a logarithmic spiral is used as the toothing form. In terms of torque density, rigidity, freedom from backlash and compactness, this new type of gearbox outperforms all previous solutions thanks to its innovative kinematics. The gearbox consumes less energy with a higher degree of efficiency and is suitable for use in machine tools, robots, wind turbines and textile machines, among others.
