Two-arm robot system for a quick reach into the crate
© Fraunhofer IPA
This automated feeding system was developed for robot-based separation. The innovation: it has two arms. With the 'bp3' software for the grip-in-the-box, it can detect and localize objects, calculate gripping points and plan removal without collisions. The two-armed robot can alternately pick workpieces from the crate and, if necessary, even grip around them and place them precisely using the second arm. In less than a second, the 3D sensor can detect the situation in the crate and localize the workpieces inside.
