In addition to the existing evaluation methods, the Visor vision sensor from Sensopart also has the BLOB function (Binary Large Object), which can be used to record the key characteristics of several objects simultaneously - such as position, rotational position, area, circumference and eccentricity. The BLOB function is available in both the monochrome and the color version of the vision sensor. No image processing knowledge is required to set up and use the BLOB function: the desired parameters are configured in the operating software with just a few mouse clicks; the image processing tools work in the background. This allows the objects in the image to be classified and counted according to adjustable features such as surface, contour, geometry, position and orientation. The vision sensor also has so-called prone/back position detection, which supports the correct positional feeding of parts, among other things.
