The direct business environment also includes competitors, suppliers, service providers and customers. The latter three in particular often have direct access and are familiar with the company's internal circumstances. This makes it easier for the perpetrators to carry out an attack. Only 17% of companies name hobby hackers as perpetrators, and only 11% are victims of organized gang crime.
