To reliably protect people and material from damage, mayr power transmission has long been offering a TÜV-certified safety brake for vertical axes in the form of the Roba-linearstop. Now the company has also had the pneumatic clamping unit certified by TÜV Süd. Most linear brakes available on the market function as static clamping units and are designed to hold the axes securely at a standstill. However, people can also stand under suspended loads during commissioning, maintenance or during the production process without the load having been transferred to the mechanical linear brake beforehand. If there is a complete failure of the drive in these operating states, the linear brake is solely responsible for safely decelerating the load. The Roba-linearstop clamping units are designed in such a way that they are also suitable for emergency braking. In addition to the required test criteria for holding brakes, 100 dynamic braking operations were carried out with the pneumatic clamping unit as part of the certification process by TÜV Süd.
