Why wander far away? Sometimes good things are closer than you think. That's what the award-winning company Rennsteig Werkzeuge thought before launching a new pipe wrench that can be operated with one hand for the first time (pictured). Instead of looking far afield and having the product evaluated by trade customers, it organized a field test without further ado: Installers from the region tested the prototype and gave their expert feedback via a questionnaire and in a personal dialog. The unconventional user test of the quickly adjustable pipe wrench turned out to be a complete success: "The tradesmen gave us helpful tips from their day-to-day work. This enabled us to further improve the product within a short space of time," explains Managing Director Sascha Zmiskol.
