In the 'Energy, Infrastructure, Connection Technology' category, the jury was won over by the Combined Charging System from the Charging Interface Initiative. Behind it are the car manufacturers Audi, BMW, Daimler, Porsche and Volkswagen as well as the development partners Phoenix Contact and Rema. The charging system was developed in close cooperation with American car manufacturers and is intended to replace the many costly regional solutions: With just one interface in the car, it combines single-phase charging with alternating current, fast AC charging with three-phase connection, DC charging for households and ultra-fast DC charging at charging stations.
