Akasol has packed a particularly long service life with high energy and power density into the Li-ion battery module called 'Akamodul' and won in the 'Storage technology, system integration' category. This is the third generation of the Akasol Li-ion battery module (formerly known as 'Aibam'). The developers have integrated two different cell types into the standard module without changing the external dimensions: firstly, the NMC cell chemistry of the 53 Ah pouch cell for high-energy applications with a service life of more than 3,100 cycles, and secondly, a high-performance/high-energy solution with a new Nano NMC 46 Ah cell with a service life of 5,600 cycles.
