The Memosens pH/redox combination electrodes CPS16D, CPS76D and CPS96D from Endress+Hauser are designed to make processes more transparent by means of two simultaneously measured parameters or a pure pH measurement with a separate sensor check. The electrodes are a combination of a pH and a redox sensor and can replace both pH and redox sensors; this reduces storage costs. Each of the three sensors has integrated quality control: the last eight calibrations are automatically stored in the sensor head. An additional platinum pin on the sensor shaft helps to determine the condition of the diaphragm, making it possible to predict any deterioration in sensor quality. Furthermore, according to the manufacturer, a single Memosens sensor is now able to output the rH value for the first time; some processes require it for optimum control, as it provides information on whether a medium is oxidizing, neutral or reducing. Previously, the rH value had to be calculated by two individual sensors at two different points - the combined sensors output this value directly.
