Omron Electronic Components Europe introduces the two energy-saving bistable relays G5RL-U and G5RL-K for lighting controls. Bistable (latching) relays only require energy during the switching process and therefore consume less power than monostable relays in most applications. Both devices can switch up to 16 A and withstand inrush currents of up to 150 A. They are equipped with a normally open contact and comply with a VDE directive that requires resistance to inrush currents above 150 A. The G5RL-U has a single coil architecture, the G5RL-K a double coil architecture. A changeover contact version is also available, although it has lower performance data.
