Danfoss VLT Antriebstechnik presents the VLT Midi Drive frequency inverter as the successor to the 'VLT 2800'. The device has been completely redesigned and offers Profibus, Modbus, Profinet, EthernetIP and CANopen fieldbuses. Mechanical features have also been improved: plug-in control and power terminals (up to 7.5 kW) simplify wiring in the field. Brake control is implemented as standard; the STO (Safe Torque Off) function is also integrated into the device. A memory module is used to copy parameter sets from one inverter to another or to import updates. This memory module simplifies commissioning and replacement during servicing and can be programmed or written to on a PC. Downward compatibility with the predecessor device is ensured mechanically. The frequency inverter supports all motor types, including synchronous reluctance motors. Thanks to a special algorithm, the Automatic Motor Adaptation AMA can also evaluate SynRM drives in just a few seconds and operate them at optimum performance.
