The areas of application for GS Yuasa's lithium-ion modules include driverless conveyor systems, warehouse logistics and container cranes for energy recovery. According to the manufacturer, they have a very high charging acceptance and are therefore particularly suitable for storing renewable energy. For example, the energy generated when a container is lowered by a crane can then be used to reduce the load on the diesel engine and save fuel. An LIM50EN cell with a nominal voltage of 3.7 V is combined into modules of eight or twelve cells. This results in nominal voltages of 29.6 V or 44.4 V per module with a nominal capacity of 47.5 Ah. The cell achieves a maximum discharge rate of 6 C and can be discharged continuously at 4 C. It also has a number of cycles of 11,000 charge/discharge cycles at a depth of discharge of 50 %.
