When asked about the
availability of engineers (1 = very poor to 5 = very good), 692 of the 790 participants responded. In particular, geothermal energy technology, natural gas power plant technology and solar energy technology achieved a positive score of 3 (= average). However, none of the industries in the energy sector rated their own supply of skilled workers as good or very good. Industries that rate their own development more negatively (see
Figure 2) appear to have more difficulties in recruiting skilled workers. One example is the nuclear industry.
