ipf electronic presents the PT730520 laser distance sensor and the PT44 series laser probe. With a maximum range of 20 m and a repeat accuracy of 2 mm (1 mm at up to 10 m), the laser distance sensor is suitable for precise positioning tasks over long distances. As the device works with time-of-flight technology, no reflector is required. An OLED bicolor display is integrated and enables background and foreground suppression. The sensor is housed in a zinc die-cast housing with IP67 protection, offers shock resistance up to 30 G and operates at temperatures between -15 and +50 °C. In addition to a freely scalable analog output (current or voltage), the distance sensor has two separate, configurable switching outputs (push-pull) and an RS485 interface for bidirectional data transmission. The device can be taught via a multifunction input. The touch probe in an IP67 aluminum housing offers a measurement repeatability of up to 10 μm and a linearity deviation of ±0.1% of the measuring range end value and is therefore suitable for applications in which, for example, the presence of the smallest objects is to be checked or the overlap of very thin materials is to be detected. The four-digit display of the probes visualizes the measured distance values and is used for menu navigation during configuration. Options such as time, window or maximum/minimum function can be set via three function keys. In addition to a switchable digital and analog output (0 to 5 V(DC)), the devices offer an external input for triggering, controlling the laser power or setting the zero point.
