WEG presents a dynamic servo drive model as an integrated complete solution. The model shows five synchronized servo drives, consisting of 'SCA06' servo controllers and 'SWA' servo motors. The simulator also includes automation components from the supplier such as contactors, circuit breakers, an HMI, a touchscreen, motor protection switches and pushbuttons. The positioning tasks of the five servo drives are synchronized on the basis of an electronic cam control (CAM). Communication between the drive units takes place via CANopen. One of the servo drives acts as a master and one as a slave, which implements the same positioning sequences as the master. Two further drives are synchronized with the master via CAM. The last drive is not synchronized, but moves to a defined position at a specific time in accordance with the defined sequence of the model. The entire programming, including ladder diagram programming with pre-programmed function blocks and CAM control, is carried out using the 'WLP' software from WEG and is implemented via the PLC functionality of the servo controller.
