With the 'DE 7000' from Schildknecht, the Hermes Award 2013 jury has nominated a gateway for cloud-based M2M solutions with a scalable number of participants. It can collect any data from sensors, measuring devices or controllers and send it to a cloud via a mobile data connection. The data can then be retrieved from this outsourced data storage via any internet-enabled device. The data can also be automatically forwarded to a scalable group of recipients via push notifications. 'DE 7000' only requires the mobile networks for data transmission. Simple SIM cards with GPRS flat rate tariffs are required. Schildknecht expects this to result in a significant reduction and control of costs.
