With the revision change, the capacitive touch screens of the PPC-F and DM-F series from ICP Germany are getting a facelift. On the one hand, the replacement of the microcontroller will increase the number of touch points on the multi-touch screen from two to ten, while on the other, an anti-UV design will be implemented. The increased number of touch points ensures increased accuracy and response time, especially compared to single-touch screens. The anti-UV design is realized by means of optical bonding (Optical Clear Adhesive Layer) as film bonding, so that the touch unit is bonded airtight to the frame. According to the manufacturer, this offers protection against direct sunlight and long-lasting ultraviolet light, particularly for industrial applications in harsh environments. Possible effects such as cracks, bubbles, yellowing or reflections on the touch screen can thus be successfully counteracted and the contrast improved at the same time. The semi-industrial AFL3 series and the IP69K-protected INOX-F15 are also equipped with this anti-UV design as standard.
