Heidenhain presents the LIC 2100 open linear encoder with absolute position detection, which has been designed for uncomplicated installation. It achieves accuracies of tolerance class ±15 µm and permits large mounting tolerances: The distance between the scanning unit and the scale tape can vary by up to 1 mm (0.75 mm ±0.5 mm for adhesive mounting, 0.75 mm +0.5 mm/-0.25 mm for mounting with aluminum carrier), a lateral offset of ±1 mm is permitted. In the three axes, the scanning unit may rotate by ±1° to the scale tape (roll, pitch and yaw). In addition, travel speeds of up to 600 m/min are possible. In the standard range, the maximum measuring length is 3020 mm, with customer-specific special solutions up to 6020 mm are possible. The large mounting tolerances generally allow mounting on a mechanical stop. The scanning head meets the requirements of protection class IP7. The available interfaces include Fanuc, Mitsubishi and Panasonic as well as EnDat 2.2.
