Siemens is expanding the Simatic HMI device family of the Comfort Panel class with robust devices for extreme environmental conditions. The Simatic HMI TP700 and Simatic HMI TP1500 Comfort Outdoor Panels are equipped with a UV-protected front panel with IP65 protection. The devices operate in a temperature range between -30 and +60 °C and at a humidity of up to 90 %. The high-resolution, daylight-compatible 7 or 15-inch widescreen displays with a 16:9 aspect ratio display even complex process or system images in great detail with up to 16 million colors. According to the manufacturer, a high level of glare-free viewing, wide viewing angles and automatic dimming enable fatigue-free operation and observation. In addition, the panels can also be installed in an upright position and operated in portrait mode. In the event of a power failure, they store enough energy to end all active archives without errors and to save the data. The panels are integrated into the automation solution with touch operation via Profinet.
