Stratospheric probes for data acquisition
Julian Petrasch (21) impressed the jury in the field of Earth and Space Sciences. He constructed a new type of stratospheric balloon as a low-cost alternative to expensive satellites in order to take high-resolution aerial photographs or obtain weather data. He was able to demonstrate the functionality of his system in several test flights.
