Rutronik presents the RFduino from RFdigital. The stand-alone computer with integrated Bluetooth Low Energy, AD converters and GPIOs can be equipped with various shields. The Arduino-compatible board can be controlled with Bluetooth v4.0-compatible smartphones or tablets. It contains the 2.4 GHz RFD22301 module, which is based on the 'nRF51822' chip from Nordic Semiconductor. In addition to the 2.4 GHz transceiver, which can implement Bluetooth Low Energy, Gazell, ShockBurst and other radio protocols, the computer also contains a 32-bit Cortex ARM-M0 microcontroller, 256 kbytes of flash and various peripherals for input and output. A range of development kits of different sizes is available in various price categories. Thanks to various plug-in functional extensions (shields), a prototype can be assembled that can be converted for large-volume series production with little effort.
