With the Rextorm series, Ruggon is presenting a range of tablets for industrial use. The Wuxga LCD touchscreen with 1920 x 1200 pixels is directly connected to the outer Gorilla Glass layer, which prevents air gaps and reflections. According to the manufacturer, the tablets detect unintentional touches, including the palm of the hand, as well as water mist and rain. The capacitive touch display also features glove touch detection, which allows workers to operate the tablet even when wearing gloves. GNSS positioning, 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and optional 4G LTE are used for communication. The standard I/O ports include USB 3.0, 2.0, RS232, RJ45, Micro-HDMI and Micro-SD. With the hot-swap battery design, batteries can be installed and removed without the need to switch off the device. The capabilities of the tablets can be expanded with SnapON modules such as magnetic card readers, smart card readers, NFC and others. The fully ruggedized tablets meet the requirements of the MIL-STD-810G standard for shock and vibration, offer IP65 protection and drop protection of 5 feet (1.52m) onto a concrete surface.
