Helmholz presents 4- and 8-port managed Profinet switches that are used to prioritize Profinet telegram traffic in the machine network. The switch can distinguish whether the telegram is a web request, an FTP file transfer, a media stream or a Profinet telegram. In the event of a high transmission load, the important telegrams can thus be prioritized to prevent telegram losses. The switches are integrated into the automation environment using a GSDML file. The devices in industrial-grade design for top-hat rail mounting have a web interface for configuration and diagnostics. Diagnostics and/or configuration can also be carried out via Telnet, SSH or USB. The supported Profinet protocols - such as LLPD, DCP or diagnostic alarms - can be easily parameterized and managed. The transmission speed, which is a maximum of 100 Mbit/s, can be defined for each port. Individual ports can also be activated or deactivated. Profinet Conformance Class B and the MRP client for transmission security through ring redundancy are further features. In addition, the network configuration can be assigned based on the device name. Devices can be replaced without an additional programming device. Firmware updates can be carried out via the web interface.
