Second place and 1,000 euros in prize money went to Steffen Müller, Tim Host, Tian Eu Lau, Niklas Loosen and Tobias Rink (from left to right) from FH Aachen. With 'PhysioTec', they have
developed a
training device that trains the crucial back and abdominal muscles for a healthier sitting posture. A sophisticated sensor system determines the sitting posture and gives small vibration impulses to correct it. When the sitting posture is optimal, a short program is then carried out to train the muscular problem areas. The students see their system being used primarily in offices, where back problems are particularly common.
