The DS6001 processor board is now also available for the Dspace Scalexio product line. According to the manufacturer, it combines high computing power and comprehensive real-time performance with the most compact design for processor hardware within the entire product line. The integration of the DS6001 into the Labbox creates a complete desktop system with which function development (rapid control prototyping, RCP) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) tests can be carried out directly at the developer's workstation. The system is equipped with an Intel Core i7-6820EQ quad-core processor. Its high computing power and the limitation of jitter and latency to a minimum should enable excellent real-time performance, making the board particularly suitable for real-time applications with fast control loops and high I/O bandwidths - such as electric drives, vibration suppression or data acquisition. It is possible to distribute different computing tasks to the individual processor cores. In addition, several units can be combined to form a multiprocessor system. Coupling with other DS6001 processor boards and with the Scalexio I/O hardware takes place via Dspace's own Iocnet network technology.
