The Icron USB 3-2-1 Raven is a USB 3.1 Gen 1 extension with Extreme USB-C technology that increases the possible USB distance via CATx or fiber optics. The Raven is available in two versions and bridges distances of up to 100 m via Cat 6a/7 standard copper cable (Raven 3104) or distances of up to 200 m via standard multimode fiber optic cable (Raven 3124). The fiber optic cable provides the Raven 3124 with insulation, which is particularly useful in military or medical applications. LAN transmission (100 Mbps Ethernet) is also possible with the Raven 3124. Both versions offer reliable data transmission at high speeds of up to 5 Gbps and are backwards compatible with USB 3.1, 2.0 and 1.1. Thanks to Plug and Play, no drivers or software are required to connect the USB peripherals to a PC or notebook. Both versions work with Windows, MAC OS, Linux and Chrome OS. The system consists of a local extender (LEX) and a remote extender (REX), both of which are powered by an external power supply unit. The transmission takes place via a 4-port point-to-point USB hub, which is integrated in the REX and is compatible with USB 3.1, 2.0, 1.1. Data flows simultaneously in both directions, so that reading and writing are possible at the same time at full bandwidth. Currents of up to 1.2 A are supported per port. The devices are FCC and CE (Class B) compliant.
