Moxa's MGate MB3660 series of densely populated Modbus gateways converts between the Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU/ASCII protocols. Up to 256 TCP master/clients can access the gateways or 128 TCP slave/server devices can be connected simultaneously. Up to 31 serial devices can be connected to each serial interface. In addition, the gateways are equipped with dual Ethernet interfaces and dual voltage modules to ensure redundancy. The gateways are particularly suitable for energy monitoring, environmental monitoring and data center infrastructure management (DCIM) in large-scale industrial applications. The main task of this type of application is to collect data from a large number of Modbus devices. The gateways can actively communicate and collect data from end devices in order to always receive up-to-date information. A SCADA system can then retrieve this data from the end devices in just one second. Thanks to the 'command learning' function, the gateways can continuously receive data from Modbus devices. This happens in parallel on all serial interfaces so that no Modbus command has to be entered manually.
