IMX12-FI frequency transducer from Turck

Turck has added the flexible IMX12-FI frequency transmitter with global Ex approvals to its interface portfolio. Users can use the device not only as a speed monitor, but also as a pulse counter. In both modes, the single-channel and dual-channel versions transmit input frequencies of up to 20,000 Hz. In addition to transmitting the input frequency to the analog output, the single-channel frequency transducer can also monitor slip, clockwise/anticlockwise running and overspeed or underspeed. Users can also parameterize a speed window for monitoring. The two-channel version transmits the respective input pulses to the corresponding analog outputs. The device can also transmit the difference between two frequencies to an output. Users can adapt the frequency transducer individually to their application via IO-Link and an FDT framework such as "Pactware". It can be operated with 0/4 to 20 mA active or passive. Variants are available with screw or spring-loaded terminals and with or without DIN rail power supply. The frequency transducer can be operated in the voltage range from 10 to 30 V(DC), which allows it to be used in solar or wind-powered modules. It is suitable for safe circuits up to SIL2; it complies with the EMC regulations of the process industry (NE21).
