
SEW-Eurodrive is expanding its control technology family with the UHX65A controller in the 'Progressive' performance class. It is based on the CPC (Cyber Physical Controller) modular system with numerous hardware modules such as scalable CPU modules, fieldbus options (multi-protocol capability) and WLAN variants. The passive cooling and RTC (Real Time Clock) function without battery replacement enable maintenance-free operation. In addition to the 'Movikit' software modules, the modular software system also includes solutions for safety, axis/controller exchange functions and configured code generation. The implementation of a software layer model based on hypervisor technology enables feedback-free interaction between real-time control on the one hand and higher-layer software functions such as visualization, condition monitoring, data mining, engineering software, diagnostics, IT communication stacks or intelligent sensors on the other. A CFast memory card, which contains all important data such as firmware, application, axis data records and application data, simplifies device replacement. In future, the processor performance of the Progressive Controller can be scaled, ordered and used from one to four processor cores for the PLC section. This allows the user to select and adapt the performance for their individual application.
