The Smartdac+ GM data acquisition system from Yokogawa supports wireless communication via Bluetooth when using mobile handheld devices. Individual modules can be quickly installed and removed from the system. The module bases are securely connected to each other using a sliding latch. To replace a module, the user must remove the respective module from the module base and insert a new module. The system also supports Bluetooth connectivity with tablets that work with the Android operating system. From handheld devices, users can wirelessly monitor and operate the system and make all settings, except for initial system setup, which requires a PC and an Ethernet or USB connection. An Android tablet can be used to start or stop data acquisition, change settings or monitor detected process values. By connecting the system to a Yokogawa WT300/500/1800 power analyzer via an Ethernet cable, temperature and power values can be measured simultaneously.
