Aicon is launching the smartScan R8 with two 8 MPixel GigE cameras. The device is available with measuring field sizes from 65 mm × 50 mm (measuring field depth 40 mm) up to 1065 mm × 870 mm (measuring field depth 660 mm). It is controlled via the 'Optocat' software. The smartScan R8 is particularly suitable for applications with high resolution requirements, such as quality inspection or reverse engineering. Overall, the system series offers a high level of detail accuracy for 3D scanning projects. According to the manufacturer, it works stably even with temperature fluctuations. All measuring systems are characterized by fast data acquisition, even complex surfaces of fragile or deformable parts are precisely captured within a few seconds.
