The B01 series from Panasonic is a product series for board-to-FPC applications that is equipped with a current carrying capacity of 6 A and is therefore suitable for battery applications and power supplies in small mobile devices, for example. The series has a mating height of 0.6 mm or 0.8 mm and requires an area of 2.4 mm × 4.45 mm on the PCB. Two additional signal contacts enable the simultaneous integration of temperature sensors or battery ID detection. The two connecting parts can be precisely fitted into each other thanks to slightly beveled side walls. According to the manufacturer, the secure connection of the connector halves is indicated to the end user by a clearly audible and tactile click, with a retention force of >10 N. The pull-out force is achieved thanks to a special multi-contact mechanism with three contact points per pin and the use of double spring balancers for the end contacts.
