Subjects such as mathematics, technology and science are often met with little enthusiasm by schoolchildren. The Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems (IAIS) wants to change this: With the open graphical programming platform 'Open Roberta', young people are to bring their self-built robot models to life. The platform is operated via an internet browser so that teachers can use it in the classroom without any technical hurdles. In order to attract girls in particular to IT professions, female students are also involved in programming as part of the open source activities of 'Open Roberta'.
