The winner of the AMA Innovation Award, endowed with 10,000 euros, is a chip from IC-Haus. The highly integrated Hall sensor ASIC for energy-autonomous absolute encoders can generate the energy required for the multiturn sensor signal as well as for counting and storing the revolutions from the movement of the encoder shaft. Wachendorff is already using the basic technology of energy-autonomous multiturn technology in its first rotary encoders and will test the use of the chip. Its advantages over existing solutions lie in its smaller installation space and greater functionality.
