With Machinery Drives ACS380, ABB offers a frequency inverter for mixers, conveyor belts, cranes and other applications in mechanical engineering with constant torque. The frequency inverters have an EMC filter for the 1st environment as standard. According to the manufacturer, they are easy to integrate into machines as all common industrial fieldbus protocols are already preconfigured and many motor types can be controlled. The user interface with menu icons is similar to that of a cell phone. According to the manufacturer, parameterization takes just three minutes. Additional flexibility is provided by adaptive programming to meet the different requirements of machines. The frequency inverter with IP20 protection will initially be available with a power range of 0.25 to 7.5 kW (0.37 to 10 hp) and a voltage range of 200 to 240 V (single-phase) and 380 to 480 V (three-phase).
