With B4FO2+ and B2FO2+, Procentec is launching a Profibus ProfiHub fiber optic product family onto the market. The network components communicate in the main line of the Profibus DP network via fiber optics and connect segments with fiber optic and copper cables. The 'ProfiHub B4FO2+' (image) combines the functionality of four galvanically isolated transparent repeaters and an optical connection module in one device. This converts the signals from the fiber optic cable to RS485. The device enables the creation of network structures with four extended spur lines, to each of which up to 31 devices can be connected. As the device is used to set up galvanically isolated segments, the devices can be disconnected and connected during operation. The 'ProfiHub B2FO2+' is equipped with all the features of the 'ProfiHub B4FO2+'. However, it has two galvanically isolated transparent repeaters and an optical connection module. This makes this network component suitable for setting up reliable main lines and long star and tree-shaped segments with many devices in fast DP networks.
