3S-Smart Software Solutions has released Codesys V3.5 Service Pack 6, an update to its IEC 61131-3 automation software. According to the manufacturer, new engineering features increase efficiency in daily work with the software, for example through conditional breakpoints and execution points as well as checking and graphical display of compile errors and warnings during input. A refactoring option for the IEC application code has also been added. This enables simple and semantically correct adaptation of all call points in the project following changes. The new Core Dump feature offers a tool for diagnosing rare errors: users can use it to create a memory dump of the PLC status and thus conveniently track and edit such application errors even after commissioning. With the integrated visualization, gestures can be used for operation via multi-touch input on suitable displays. The service pack will be officially released at the end of the year.
