With TBIP, Turck is launching another hybrid safety block I/O module on the market that combines standard and safe inputs/outputs in one device - in this case for Ethernet/IP and CIP Safety. The 'TBPN' model for Profinet/Profisafe is already available. Both IP67 hybrid modules can be flexibly adapted to the specific signal requirements in the machine and can also function as a decentralized safety controller. The safety functions can also be configured and tested without connection to the subsequent safety PLC. The I/O modules comply with protection classes IP65/IP67/IP69K. On the safety side, the hybrid modules offer two safe inputs for connecting safety sensors such as light grids or emergency stop buttons. Two further safe channels can be used as inputs or outputs. The four universal inputs/outputs for connecting non-safety-related signals can each switch up to 2 A. Two of the I/Os can also be configured as IO-Link masters. In combination with I/O hubs from the provider, it is possible to connect up to 32 additional I/Os to the module in this way. Both the standard channels and an IO-Link channel of the TBIP can be switched off internally in a safety-oriented manner, which simplifies the switching and wiring of auxiliary drives and valve terminals. The robust safety modules are suitable for the temperature range between -40 and +70 °C.
