Thanks to the '3YourMind' software, engineers and architects can create models for 3D printing - without any special knowledge of 3D print files. Berlin-based founders Stephan Kühr, Tobias Wunner and Aleksander Ciszek have developed a software module that is compatible with all common design software solutions. The module is integrated into the existing software via an interface and offers the user additional application options for 3D printing. It recognizes typical printing problems, such as overlapping, open or unconnected elements, or - especially with regard to 3D printing - walls that are too thin, as well as fragile structures, and offers correction options. The BMWi recognized the development with prize money of 6,000 euros.
