11 SAP Engineering Control Center Interface to Eplan
© Eplan Software & Service
The new SAP Engineering Control Center Interface to Eplan enables the secure storage of projects in the SAP system, including the exchange of parts lists. According to the manufacturer, further benefits for companies include the provision of project data across departmental boundaries, access control via the SAP authorization system, backup of older versions of a project, status and release management as well as the provision of PDFs and other neutral formats for all SAP users. The integration of an additional PDM system is not required. The interface uses the standard integration technology 'Engineering Control Center' from SAP. All CAD integrations such as Autodesk Inventor and others in SAP are set up on this basis. If the customer works in a multi-CAD environment, all interfaces in SAP function in the same way and have the same 'look and feel'. A link to customer orders and SAP project structures in maintenance and other SAP objects can be realized via the interface using drag & drop. This links the Eplan project with the SAP follow-up processes and should make it easier for the designer to find the SAP objects relevant to him via the desired Eplan project. With integration into the SAP change service, historical statuses can be managed via the Eplan platform according to date or serial number validity. The consistency of the data and access authorizations are also controlled via SAP mechanisms.
