Siemens is expanding its drive portfolio for servo applications with the Simotics S-1FG1 servo geared motor, which is matched to the Sinamics S120 inverter system. The seamless integration of this drive system into Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) is intended to enable simple project planning and commissioning, while the pre-assembled Motion-Connect signal and power cables enable uncomplicated and error-free connection of the components. According to the manufacturer, the electronic type plates on the components and the connection of the motors via the Drive-Cliq system interface help with commissioning. The servo drive system is suitable for use in applications such as printing and packaging machines, storage and retrieval machines, conveyor systems and dosing pumps. The Simotics S-1FG1 motor is available in helical, parallel shaft, bevel and helical worm gearbox versions - with up to 25 ratios depending on the gearbox type and size. The Sinamics S120 inverter system is available in four different designs: blocksize, booksize, chassis and cabinet unit.
