Electric toothed belt axis Elga-TB-G from Festo
© Festo
The Elga-TB-G electric toothed belt axis from Festo was designed for applications where loads are fed externally or where simple sliding guides with a rigid profile are sufficient. If the workpiece is guided externally, the use of the axis with sliding guide is more economical than an electric axis with recirculating ball bearing guide, according to the manufacturer. The toothed belt axis has a flexible motor connection and, according to the manufacturer, is compatible with all common stepper and servo motors. The motor position can be freely selected and converted on four sides. The axis has high feed forces and achieves travel speeds of up to 5 m/s and accelerations of up to 50 m/s². The Festo Configuration Tool FCT helps with commissioning. The PositioningDrives design software helps with the reliable selection of the right axis. The toothed belt axis is available in 3 sizes and offers a maximum working stroke of up to 8,500 mm.
