The Federal Cabinet recently adopted its Digital Agenda 2014-2017. The Federal Ministry of Research recommends that German companies gradually introduce internet-based production technologies in order to reap the benefits of Industry 4.0. However, companies are rather critical of the politicians' activities. Almost three quarters of those surveyed believe that the support from politicians leaves a lot to be desired. One in ten companies even see the efforts of politicians as counterproductive. Only 17 percent of the business leaders surveyed believe that they are receiving good support from politicians in their efforts to become the factory of the future.
