With the EZ-Screen LS (Light Screen) from Banner Engineering, Turck is expanding its range of safety light curtains. The safety curtain has no blind zones, so that continuous detection of the entire monitoring area is guaranteed with cascaded elements. An integrated two-color LED alignment aid simplifies setup, troubleshooting and installation, which can also be carried out without a PC, DIP switches or other aids. Three resolutions are available to cover as many fields of application as possible: 14 mm, 23 mm and 40 mm, with a maximum range of 12 m. The housing lengths can be selected in 70 mm increments from 280 mm to 1820 mm. If required, up to four cascadable systems of any length and resolution and with any number of beams can be combined fully automatically. Thanks to its dual-scan technology, the light curtain is immune to possible interference from EMC, ambient light, welding flashes or strobe light. The device is certified in accordance with the safety standards Type 4 to IEC 61496, Category 4 PLe to EN ISO 13849-1, SIL3 to IEC 61508 and SIL CL3 to IEC 62061. The transmitter and receiver of the IP65/IP67 safety light curtain are each protected against impact by a 5 mm recessed window and a 3 mm thick aluminum housing with metal end caps.
