In pick & place applications, the image processing of the camera connected to the feed system previously had to be carried out using an external PC. For the "RC8 controller" from Denso Robotics, there is an optional application that enables image processing to be carried out directly on the robot controller. With the Easy Vision Picking (EVP) software, image processing is integrated directly into the robot controller. The operation of image processing has also been simplified. The camera is calibrated using a wizard and the user is guided through the process step by step. The task of the software in the production process is to recognize the position of the parts on the feed system and pass it on to the robot, which then knows exactly where it needs to access them. The spatial calculations take place in the controller itself. The system can be used with various feeding systems, such as "Conveyor Tracking", "Eyefeeder" and "Anyfeeder", and can also be used for general part detection.
