The BMWI joint project 'Marion' (mobile autonomous cooperative robots in complex value chains) is setting new trends. Together with researchers, Claas has developed a planning system that calculates coordinated routes for combine harvesters and transfer vehicles. Important measured variables are fill levels, harvested areas, fluctuating yields and the position and speed of the GPS-guided machines. In the picture, the combine harvester and transfer vehicle are positioning themselves for teamwork.
