Matrix Vision becomes Balluff
Matrix Vision and Balluff are combining their expertise in the field of image processing - and further expanding their service portfolio. The Oppenweiler site will be retained.
Matrix Vision has complemented the Balluff Group in the field of camera-based sensor technology (machine vision) since 2017. As of October 16, the company, which was founded in 1986, is now part of the Balluff brand: Matrix Vision will be renamed Balluff MV.
"From standard industrial cameras to embedded vision and software for industrial image processing, we are now offering customers our vision portfolio under one brand umbrella," says Rainer Grundmann, Head of Project Management at Balluff, who is responsible for the brand transition. The aim of the sensor and automation specialist from Neuhausen auf den Fildern is to further expand and position the joint vision products and services internationally.
The changeover will not affect the technical functionalities. "Compatibility with other products is still guaranteed," says Grundmann. "For example, our camera software can easily support both the Matrix Vision cameras and the new versions under the Balluff brand." Matrix Vision's current location in Oppenweiler, Baden-Württemberg, will remain as a competence center for image processing. Nothing will change for the approximately 120 employees - who will be working for Balluff MV with immediate effect. "There will be no redundancies," emphasizes Grundmann.
What is changing is the product design: "From now on, all our vision components will be available in a black housing with a white Balluff logo," explains Dietmar Unser, Marketing Manager at Matrix Vision. Because Balluff, as the future manufacturer, is integrating the existing products into its global sales network and online store, the product designations will also be adapted in line with the Balluff nomenclature.
