Regardless of whether the customers of image processors are in the automotive, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, packaging, transport or logistics sectors - the industry requires ever greater precision, speed and data processing in its production processes and logistics," explains Thomas Walter, Vice President Industry & Technology at Messe Stuttgart. Vision 2016 will therefore feature cameras with even higher frame rates and increased resolution as well as software that easily integrates image processing into the overall system. The companies that can be found at the trade fair also offer technological solutions that extend beyond industrial applications: "Where drones use cameras to check the condition of plants in order to reduce the use of pesticides and herbicides in agriculture, cameras and systems from our exhibitors are also used, as well as in medicine, where camera systems are used to detect skin cancer," says Walter.

The trade fair will focus on five topics and trends in particular:

  • System integrators and solution providers can be found in the 'Integration Area' in the entrance area of Hall 1.
  • Companies active in the field of industrial PCs will be exhibiting at the joint 'IPC 4 Vision' stand.
  • Exhibitors whose stands bear the 'Traffic Vision' logo will be explaining how image processing is used in the traffic & transportation sector.
  • At stand 1B11, the Automated Imaging Association (AIA), the European Machine Vision Association (EMVA) and the Japan Industrial Imaging Association (JIIA) will be presenting specific applications and enabling direct discussions with developers.
  • As machine vision technology is becoming increasingly important in the food & beverage industry , the 2016 trade fair will also focus on this topic. Exhibitors who can demonstrate particular expertise in this sector are marked with the corresponding logo.
